First Generation Mycelium
We grow out and harvest the spores from top quality mushrooms to grow the mycelium for our syringes. Most companies offer you a product that is second, third, fourth or even sixth generation, meaning the mycelium you purchase could potentially have been parted out several times over months of growing. We offer first generation mycelium, which means you get the freshest, strongest strands to innoculate your growing medium.

Hi, my name is Patrick Leon, I started Crow Caps and growing mushroom cultures as a passion to help people bring health into their homes. I specialize in Lab based work. Growing liquid cultures for various culinary and medicinal mushrooms. I also grow and harvest Cordyceps militaris on the side.
My background in education and my work as a teacher has helped tremendously in my efforts in the lab. Just like with students every mushroom is different. Crow Caps focus is on making sure that each strain of liquid culture is given the particular needs it wants. Slight changes in the liquid broth means that each culture is stronger and more vibrant. What this means for you is a stronger, faster, and happier growing mushroom.
Growing mushrooms is an art just as much as it is a science. Crow Caps' goal is to provide products and education that will help smooth out the challenges and learning curve. Making the process fun and engaging for every level of skill. Whether starting from spore, bag, culture, or more, I’m happy to help you grow!
